PROGRAM
A driver meets you at the airport. Depending on your flight schedule, you may arrive at Tbilisi airport, Batumi airport or Kutaisi airport.
You then head to Mestia, a small town in the northwest of the country. A minibus transfer will take you to reach this gem in the heart of the mountains.
The transfer time varies from 5 to 8 hours depending on your arrival airport (allow 8 hours from Tbilisi, 6 hours from Batumi and 5 hours from Kutaisi).
After your long journey, you can settle into your room and rest for a while before having dinner.
You will meet the team who will be looking after you during the week. Your guide will run through the program and give an update on the conditions expected.
If you are not too tired, the safety briefing and reminder of avalanche safety instructions will be given to save time on Monday.
Breakfast is at the chalet and then you get ready to go flying.
There is a short transfer to the helipad.
The Ecureuil (or Squirrel) helicopter will be waiting for you there to take you to the nearby mountains. The variety of terrain will satisfy both novice and more experienced heliskiers.
You will be able to enjoy several drop-offs a day, in the heart of breathtaking scenery: abrupt ridges, wide slopes and coniferous forests.
At lunchtime, you can enjoy a picnic on the mountain.
At the end of the day, you are taken back to your private chalet to enjoy the incomparable comfort it offers.
Dinners can be taken at the hotel or elsewhere. Mestia, which has grown with the arrival of tourism, now boasts a number of restaurants offering a wide range of cuisine, from traditional Georgian fare to international dishes.
You can also sample the region’s surprising wines, as Svaneti has been a wine-growing region for over 8,000 years.
If the weather is bad, you can discover Svaneti’s impressive history at the Museum of History and Ethnography or visit the architectural remains of Svan culture, in particular the impressive defense towers.
Depending on the conditions and your own preference, you can enjoy a final half-day of skiing before returning to the hotel.
Then it is time to head to the airport for your return flight.

Sami Mta chalet, which was once a president’s holiday home, enjoys an exceptional location on the slopes on the outskirts of the small town of Mestia. The location is in unspoiled surroundings yet close to the amenities of the town.
From the outset, you will be captivated by the chalet’s exterior architecture in a contemporary style made warmer by the use of wood.
The huge property of 1,500 m2 offers five suites, including a VIP suite with two bedrooms and a private sauna.
The interior is bathed in light and opens out to the incredible scenery of the thousand-year-old Svan towers. The natural materials used and the beautiful harmony of the relaxing colors create an atmosphere that is conducive to relaxation.
Art has its place here, with a combination of modern and traditional works.
You will have plenty of time to discover the large library or to share convivial moments in one of the living rooms or even in the magnificent jacuzzi that awaits you on the terrace.
Every morning a buffet breakfast is prepared by the chalet staff.
The chef will introduce you to local flavors such as Kudbari (traditional bread filled with meat), accompanied by the best wines from different regions of Georgia.
