HELISKIING IN CHILE
Holiday in Andino Lodge
Heliskiing in Chile is an unusual and unique experience, as much for the exotic nature of the destination as for the quality of the skiing it offers.
Winter in the southern hemisphere offers fresh, dry snow thanks to the proximity of the Pacific Ocean and the sun is almost always shining.
The Cordillera de los Andes, some 7,150 kilometers long and with an average altitude of 4,000 meters, offers a variety of terrain with forests, steep slopes and long vertical drops.

PROGRAM
Rendezvous at Santiago International Airport (Arturo-Merino-Benitez) where you will be met by a driver who will take you to Andino Lodge (about 1½ hour’s drive) where you will be spending the week.
You will have time to settle into your room and discover the Lodge.
Then, it is time to meet the team who will be looking after you during your stay. They will present the program, including a weather briefing, to give you an idea of how your week of heliskiing will unfold.
This will be followed by a safety briefing and equipment check.
We end this first day with a welcome drink and your first dinner at the Lodge.
Days 2 to 5 (Sunday to Thursday)
You spend six nights in the comfortable accommodation at Lodge Andino, going out and back every day. The days start and finish at the Lodge.
The site was chosen in part for its great location: the helicopter is waiting for us every morning outside the Lodge and takes us back there after skiing.
A real advantage is that the first descents are just a 5 minute helicopter flight, guaranteeing optimum flight time. Of course the area extends much further and we will not hesitate to exploit this to ensure you get the most out of your stay.
This Andean region offers an amazing playground for heliskiing and the terrain ensures that there is no monotony. Almost anything is possible, and you will be able to ski glaciers, steep slopes or craggy ridges… with the wonders of the magnificent Andes landscape as your backdrop.
The program will be adapted to the weather conditions, the idea being to make the most of each day.
In general, you ski in the morning because the snow conditions are better.
We find a good place for a gourmet picnic at mid-day and then, ideally, we will do a few more runs, perhaps stopping off at the hot springs along the way.
We leave the rest of the day up to you: if you fancy a bit more sport, you can go kayaking or horse-riding, or go for a short hike.
As the lodge is located in the heart of natural surroundings in a real haven of tranquility, you can also opt just to relax or enjoy a massage.
Gastronomy plays an important role in Chile and the chef will be delighted to introduce you to his cuisine that is full of flavor and his specialties that you will enjoy in the Lodge’s dining room.
A selection of fine Chilean vintages is also available.
For our last day we will leave right after breakfast for a last heliskiing session.
Depending on the option chosen, you return to Santiago by road or helicopter.
If you opt for a helicopter transfer, you will land on the roof of Santiago’s famous skyscraper, the Titanium, so you can admire the city from above.
You spend your last night in a luxury hotel in Santiago, enjoying dinner in the city and, if you choose, a festive evening…
You can enjoy breakfast before going to Santiago International Airport for your return flight.
